Tumor Registration
Gabriela Niculescu is currently researching techniques to register pre and post-treatment CT images in order to qunatify the effectiveness of treatment.
Elliptic Fourier Reconstruction
Niculescu et al. investigated the double elliptic Fourier transform as a means to characterize shape in three dimensions. A prototype system was used to evaluate neuroanatomy from MR brain scans of children who have been diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder or Asperger's Syndrome. See the poster describing this research.
